What is WiFi calling?

WiFi calling allows you to make voice calls using a Wi-Fi network instead of your carrier's network connection. This can be particularly useful in areas with weak carrier coverage, such as rural areas or buildings with poor reception. You can still use regular phone numbers, and the call functions just like any other phone call.

Why would I want WiFi calling?

WiFi calling is especially beneficial in situations where you have limited or no carrier coverage. For example, when traveling to rural areas or when inside a building with spotty reception. Similar to using Wi-Fi for messaging when SMS texting is unavailable, WiFi calling allows you to make calls even in locations like underground bars, as long as you can connect to the establishment's Wi-Fi network.

What carriers and phones support WiFi calling?

All four major US carriers (T-Mobile, Sprint, AT&T, and Verizon) offer built-in Wi-Fi calling. Additionally, Republic Wireless and Google Project Fi provide this service on select phones. Republic Wireless utilizes Sprint's network for support when there is no connection available, while Google Project Fi utilizes T-Mobile, Sprint, and US Cellular.

T-Mobile phones generally have built-in Wi-Fi calling support. Some iPhone models running iOS 9.1 or higher on the Sprint network also support Wi-Fi calling. Certain Android devices may also have this feature, but it is necessary to check the phone's Settings menu to confirm.

Does WiFi calling cost more?

For domestic calls, WiFi calling does not cost extra. However, it is essential to note that making calls over Wi-Fi may consume your regular minutes allowance, depending on your carrier and phone plan.

Why do I need the app?

Many retail mobile devices have the "WiFi Calling" function but lack a menu entry to enable it. This app allows you to check for hidden functions and activate them if they are available for use.

How do I use the app?

  1. Start the app and click on "WiFi Calling Setting".
  2. Select "WLAN calling".
  3. Click on "ENABLE" WLAN calling.
  4. Choose "WLAN preferred".
  5. "WiFi Calling" is now enabled!

We invite users to report compatible and incompatible phone models, as well as any issues encountered. Your feedback will help us to further improve the app. Please send your reports to yangyz20191101@gmail.com.
